Coach Hire with Driver in Milan: Fairs, Events and Corporate

Contents

Milan is not Rome. It sounds obvious, but when it comes to group transport it makes a real difference.

In Milan our Lainate base, with its own vehicles, all Euro 6, handles coach and bus hire for groups and companies.

In Rome demand is driven by tourism, schools and pilgrimages. In Milan the share of work linked to events, international trade fairs and corporate transport is far larger than any other type. People who organise transport in Milan often do so in a professional setting: an events office moving 150 delegates to a congress, a pharmaceutical company taking staff from one site to another, an international organisation handling accreditation for the Olympic Games.

These settings call for precision. Not approximations.

Todde Bus opened an operating base in Milan in September 2025, bringing to the city 70 years of experience and the operational structure that made us an official supplier to the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games.

Why Milan has different logistics

The first difference is geography. Milan’s most important event venues are not in the city centre.

Fiera Milano is in Rho, about 20 km from the Duomo. On a normal trade fair day the journey from the city takes 40-60 minutes. If 200 delegates need to be there at 09:00, the coach has to leave at 08:00 or earlier, not whenever it seems convenient.

MiCo, the congress centre in CityLife, is closer to the centre but has specific access points for large vehicles and parking restrictions. A driver who does not know these access points causes problems for the entry logistics.

Multinational headquarters are in Sesto San Giovanni, Segrate, Cologno Monzese and Assago. These districts have their own traffic patterns, with peak times that differ from the centre.

The second difference is regulation. Milan’s Area C (the congestion charge zone) and Area B (the low emission zone) have access rules for commercial vehicles that vary by time, day of the week and the vehicle’s emission class. Anyone who does not know them finds out at the worst possible moment.

Our drivers in Milan know these settings. Not because they studied them in a manual, but because they work in them.

The services we offer in Milan

Trade fairs and congresses

Fiera Milano Rho, MiCo, Allianz MiCo, the Assago congress centre: we handle transfers to and from Milan’s main trade fair and congress venues.

For trade fairs the most requested service is a repeated transfer from where guests are staying or arriving (hotel, station, airport) to the fair, with scheduled runs throughout the day. For congresses the service often also covers transfers to social dinners and side activities.

Company shuttles and corporate travel

Staff shuttles between several sites, airport transfers for guests and senior management, transport for internal company events: we run both ongoing and one-off services.

For companies based in the Milan hinterland, a shuttle service is often a practical alternative to a mileage reimbursement policy, easier to account for and more appreciated by employees.

Transport for sports and cultural events

The San Siro stadium, the Unipol Forum in Assago, the summer arenas: for events with large crowds, coordinated coach transport eases the pressure on car parks and public transport.

We also carry organised supporters’ groups following Milan’s teams to away matches, with vehicles available for journeys outside the region too.

Olympic services and major events

As an official supplier to the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games, we run transport on routes covering Milan, Cortina, Bormio and Livigno. Olympic logistics have some of the most demanding operating standards there are: zero delays, no unmanaged surprises, real-time coordination with the organisers.

This experience is also available to clients organising events on a comparable scale.

Tours and trips outside Milan

Lake Como, Lake Maggiore, Lake Garda, Franciacorta, the Langhe: half-day or full-day tours outside Milan are a frequent request, both from companies planning team building days and from private organised groups.

We know the routes. We know where to stop for a wine tasting in Franciacorta, which roads to avoid around Lake Como in certain seasons, and how to plan a day out without losing hours in queues.

The fleet we use in Milan

Our Milan base runs its own vehicles, not vehicles subcontracted from other companies. Minibuses for city transfers and small groups, midi coaches for mid-sized groups, Gran Turismo coaches for long journeys and corporate hospitality events.

All vehicles are Euro 6, which is required to enter Area B without restrictions and to enter Area C during the permitted time slots.

How to request a quote for Milan

The operations manager at our Milan base deals directly with requests for Lombardy and neighbouring destinations.

For an accurate quote we need: date and time of the service, pick-up point, destination, number of passengers, type of event or service, and any particular logistical needs such as coordination with flights or with trade fair opening hours.

Email: info@toddebus.it (subject line: “Milan”, so your request goes straight to the local team)

For visiting groups we run a coach tour of Milan, and for agencies we provide coaches with drivers for tour operators and DMCs.

FAQ: coach hire with driver in Milan

Do you operate during the Salone del Mobile and the other trade fair weeks?

Yes, but in those periods vehicle availability drops very quickly. The Salone del Mobile is when demand for transport in Milan reaches its peak. If you have an event that week, contact us at least two months in advance. Waiting until the last week means finding little or nothing available.

Can you handle the transfer from Malpensa for a group of international guests?

Yes. Transfers from Malpensa to Milan or to venues in the hinterland are a service we run regularly. For groups arriving on several flights close together, we coordinate with the landing times. If the flights arrive far apart, we decide together whether it makes sense to wait for everyone or to make several runs.

How far ahead should I book for events that are not trade fairs?

For standard services in normal periods, two or three weeks are usually enough. For services with several coordinated vehicles, or events that need a structured logistics plan, two or three months is ideal. For urgent services, contact us directly and we will see what is available.

Do your drivers in Milan speak English?

For services involving international guests, an English-speaking driver is an option you can request when asking for a quote. Not all our drivers are fluent in English, but for corporate events or VIP transfers with foreign guests we can guarantee staff with suitable language skills.

Do you also run recurring services for companies based in the Milan hinterland?

Yes. For companies with sites in Sesto San Giovanni, Segrate, Cologno Monzese, Assago, Rho or other towns in the hinterland, we run ongoing shuttle contracts with fixed timetables and a dedicated contact person. The service is designed around where employees live and their working hours. Contact us for an assessment.
