A DMC in Milan works to a calendar it does not set. Fashion weeks, the Salone del Mobile, the big fairs at Rho and the congresses fill the hotels and empty the coach depots on the same days, and the incentive group heading to Lake Como the day after the fair needs a vehicle just when everyone else is looking for one. Transport therefore has to be booked around the city’s calendar, even before the client’s programme.
Since September 2025 we have had an operating base in Lainate, north-west of Milan, from which we run coach and bus hire in Milan for agencies, tour operators, DMCs and event offices. Here we explain how we work with those who organise incoming travel and corporate trips in Lombardy.
A base in Lainate with our own vehicles
The Lainate base works with vehicles we own, not subcontracted ones, and every vehicle at this base is Euro 6. For a DMC this means two things: the vehicle confirmed is the one that turns up, and there are no surprises with the environmental restrictions of Area B and Area C, Milan’s low emission and congestion charge zones.
Behind it is the organisation of a company that has worked in group transport since 1956, with more than 100 vehicles of its own, an in-house workshop and replacement vehicles in case of breakdown. We were official suppliers to the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games, with a contract signed in February 2025 and routes between Milan, Cortina, Bormio and Livigno.
The calendar that decides availability
Fashion weeks are the first dates to mark. According to the calendar of the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana, in 2027 Milano Moda Uomo runs from 15 to 19 January and from 18 to 22 June, and Milano Moda Donna from 23 February to 1 March and from 21 to 27 September. On those days a DMC often needs transfers between hotels, showrooms and show venues: an executive car or a minivan with up to 8 seats for buyers and guests in small groups, a minibus or a coach for larger delegations.
The Salone del Mobile takes place in April and is the busiest period of the year: Salone del Mobile shuttles need to be booked at least 2-3 months ahead. In the weeks of the big fairs hire prices can rise, and it is worth knowing this when you build the package price list.
Fiera Milano Rho: repeated runs and time margins
Rho Fiera is about 20 km from the Duomo, but on opening days the journey takes 40-60 minutes. For a group that has to be at the fair at 09:00, the coach leaves the centre at 08:00, not 08:30. The evening return is the trickiest moment, because thousands of people leave at the same time.
For DMCs looking after delegations or exhibitors we organise repeated runs during the day, not just there and back, with a vehicle that stays at your disposal. Getting to Fiera Milano Rho by coach follows precise logistics for access and loading points. Lainate is close to the exhibition centre, which helps us with the first services of the morning.
Lakes, Franciacorta and villas for incentives
The part of the programme the client remembers is almost always outside the city: a dinner in a villa on Lake Como, a day on Lake Maggiore, a winery visit in Franciacorta. The residences on Lake Maggiore are about an hour from Malpensa and an hour and a half from Milano Centrale station, and on the lake roads the vehicle has to be chosen according to access to the venue.
Before confirming we check accessibility from the address. If the Gran Turismo coach cannot reach the villa entrance, we use minibuses or an intermediate transfer point. The same applies to group activities out of town, such as team building days by coach from Milan.
Malpensa, Linate and Orio al Serio
Many international arrivals come through Malpensa, which is about 50 km from the city: in the morning the journey takes an hour or more, up to an hour and a half at the wrong times. We monitor flight times and, if a flight is delayed, the vehicle waits without you needing to tell us. With arrivals spread over several flights, for a group transfer from Milan’s airports we decide with you whether to wait for everyone or run several trips.
Central Milan with a group
For city visits the coach pays the Area C ticket for tour buses on weekdays, which includes a few hours of parking in the reserved areas, and drops the group at the coach bays in the centre, such as Piazza Castello.
A typical day in the city runs from the Castello to the districts outside the Cerchia (the ring of inner boulevards), as in our Milan coach tour for groups, with drop-offs at the permitted stops.
For international guests, on request, we assign an English-speaking driver. For events with more than 100 people we prepare a logistics plan with pick-up points, times, coordinated vehicles and an operations contact who can be reached on the day of the event.
Environmental data for corporate clients
Many incentive and congress clients ask their DMC to report the emissions of the trip. We are ISO 14001:2015 certified for environmental management and, on request, we provide emissions data per km for the vehicles used, which is useful for the end client’s ESG reporting.
