In Milan the minibus is often a working-day vehicle. It serves the company that needs to bring 18 employees from the station to the office every morning, the agency moving a delegation between hotel, trade fair and restaurant, the event office with 25 guests to take to a dinner outside the city. For these numbers, minibus hire in Milan is more efficient than a large coach and simpler to manage than three or four cars.
From our Lainate operations base, open since September 2025, we work with our own vehicles, all Euro 6, and with drivers who hold a category D licence and an up-to-date CQC (the professional driver qualification card). Our minibuses have 16 to 27 seats, with smaller 8-seat models. For larger groups the same base handles coach and bus hire in Milan, with buses and Gran Turismo coaches.
Employee shuttles by minibus
A company shuttle makes sense with as few as 10-15 employees on a shared route, and in this range the minibus is the natural vehicle. The typical case in Milan is the link between a railway station or metro stop and a site in an industrial area or a town in the hinterland, where public transport is poor or its timetable does not match the shifts.
When you ask us for an employee shuttle service, we send you a preliminary proposal within a week, and the service starts 2-3 weeks after signing. The first month is a trial period: times and stops can be changed at no extra cost. Every month we provide a report showing services, hours and kilometres.
For companies that do ESG reporting there is one more point: we are ISO 14001:2015 certified and on request we provide emissions data per kilometre for the vehicles used.
Area B, Area C and Euro 6 vehicles
Anyone organising transport in Milan has to deal with Area B and Area C, the city’s two restricted traffic zones (Area B is the low emission zone, Area C the congestion charge zone in the centre), which have their own rules for vehicles and for buses. All the vehicles at our Milan base are Euro 6, which makes it easier to plan routes across the city.
In the centre, access, parking and stopping for tour coaches follow precise rules on parking, Area B and Area C, including the Bastioni di Porta Venezia. When you give us the addresses, we check in advance where the minibus can stop and suggest the closest permitted pick-up point.
For a group of 20 people the size of the minibus matters outside the restricted zones too. It stops outside hotels where a Gran Turismo coach would have to stop further away, it gets into courtyards and company car parks, and it makes loops with many stops quicker.
Trade fairs and congresses: shuttles in rotation
On fair days the minibus works as a shuttle. Fiera Milano is in Rho, about 20 km from the Duomo, and on an opening day it takes 40-60 minutes to get there. For exhibitors with hotels in the city we organise repeated runs during the day: to the fair in the morning, back to the hotels in the evening, with a few runs in between for those who leave early.
An example: 40 people from one stand need to be at the fair at 08:30 for set-up. With two 20-seat minibuses leaving at 07:30 from two different hotels, nobody has to cross the city to reach the pick-up point. To reach Fiera Milano Rho by coach on opening days, what matters most is the departure time from the hotels.
For events with more than 100 people we prepare a logistics plan with pick-up points, timings, coordinated vehicles and an operations contact reachable on the day of the event. During the weeks of the big trade fairs prices can rise, so it pays to book early.
Outside Milan: lakes, Franciacorta and event villas
The minibus is also the most practical vehicle for small groups heading out of the city: a company dinner in Franciacorta, a day on Lake Como, a villa wedding with guests coming from different hotels. Lakeside roads are often narrow, and a villa with a narrow entrance drive can take a minibus where a coach will not fit.
If the venue cannot be reached even by minibus, we set up an intermediate transfer point. This solution can also work for the wedding guest shuttle on Lake Como, when the wedding villa is hard to reach.
For groups of up to 8 people, on the other hand, a minivan with driver may be enough, with our chauffeur service in Milan.
Minibus hire in Milan: capacity and indicative prices
Besides minibuses with 16 to 27 seats, there is the 36-seat bus for slightly larger groups, and above 40 people the 54-56 seat Gran Turismo coach. If you are undecided, the choice between a minibus and a Gran Turismo coach also depends on size: the minibus fits into historic centres and the courtyards of hotels and schools.
The cost of a 17-20 seat minibus with driver for a day in Milan depends on the vehicle, times, kilometres and period, and quotes are free. The written quote includes driver, fuel, passenger insurance and maintenance; tolls and extra routes are shown separately. 36-seat buses and Gran Turismo coaches have higher price bands, linked to the vehicle’s capacity.
How to request a quote for a minibus in Milan
Write to us with the date, departure time, pick-up and destination addresses, number of passengers, any stops and any luggage or materials to load. For an employee shuttle, add the number of employees, the shift times and the area they come from. We reply within a few hours during business hours.
From our base in via Ugo Forti we also run minibus hire with driver in Rome.

Frequently asked questions
How much does it cost to hire a minibus with driver in Milan for a day?
The cost depends on the vehicle, times, kilometres and period, and it can rise during the weeks of the big trade fairs. Quotes are free: give us the date, times and route.
Can your minibuses drive in Area B?
All the vehicles at our Milan base are Euro 6. The Area B and Area C rules for buses are specific, so for every service we check the addresses and the permitted stopping points.
From how many employees is a minibus company shuttle worth it?
The service makes sense with as few as 10-15 employees on a shared route. With these numbers a minibus is cheaper than a bus and easier to manage than several cars.
Can I hire a minibus without a driver in Milan?
No, we do not offer self-drive hire. The service is always vehicle plus driver.
Do you run minibus shuttles to Fiera Milano Rho?
Yes, we organise repeated runs between hotels and the fair during the day. During the weeks of the big trade fairs it is best to book early.
