Fiera Milano Rho: how to get there as a group by coach

Contents

The Rho exhibition centre is large: 20 halls laid out on both sides of a pedestrian walkway more than a kilometre long. For anyone bringing a group, the question of how to get to Fiera Milano Rho actually contains two. The first is how to get to the gates. The second, which many discover only on the first day, is which gate to use so as not to face a long walk with catalogues under your arm.

In our coach and bus hire in Milan, Rho is an everyday destination. Our operating base in Lainate, active since September 2025 with our own vehicles, is right next to the exhibition centre: our drivers start out from the area and know the slip roads, the roundabouts and the queues on the Sempione road.

The three gates and the right hall

According to Fiera Milano, there are three public entrances. Porta Est (East Gate) serves the M1 metro (Rho Fieramilano stop) and the Rho Fiera railway station. Porta Sud (South Gate) is the main entrance to the complex. Porta Ovest (West Gate) is near the multi-storey car parks.

The choice of gate depends on the hall, not on what suits the driver. Before the service we ask for the hall and stand number, look at the event map and decide where to drop the group. A company with its stand at the far end of the walkway, towards the West Gate, that drops 50 guests at the East Gate forces them into a long walk before the day has even started. Coach parking and loading areas are set by the organiser of each fair: we check them in the event regulations and pass them on to the driver.

Fiera Milano Rho: how to get there by coach from Milan and the airports

The complex is on the Strada Statale del Sempione, at number 28. From the A50 Tangenziale Ovest (the western ring road), A4, A8 and A9 motorways you take the “fieramilano” or “Pero-fieramilano” exit. It is about 20 km from the Duomo, which on a trade fair day becomes 40-60 minutes. The critical stretch is the last one: the exits clog up in the half hour before opening, when cars, taxis and coaches all arrive together.

This is why the service is planned around the entry time. If 90 buyers need to be at the stand at 09:30 and are staying between Centrale and Porta Garibaldi, the first vehicle leaves the hotel at around 08:00, not at 08:45. For those flying straight in, Malpensa is about 50 km from Milan, but on the right side for Rho: it often makes sense to take the group straight from arrivals to the fair and stop at the hotel in the evening. This is the pattern we use for group transfers from Milan’s airports.

EICMA 2026: dates and what changes for groups

EICMA, the international cycle and motorcycle exhibition, takes place at Rho from 3 to 8 November 2026. The days of 3 and 4 November are reserved for press and trade visitors; from 5 to 8 November the show is open to the public from 09:30 to 18:30. These are the busiest days of the autumn for traffic in the area.

For schools, EICMA offers a group ticket for a minimum of 20 and a maximum of 70 people, pupils and teachers combined, with online registration by 20 October 2026 and authorisation from the school. Full details are on EICMA’s general information page.

For a single class a 36-seat midi coach is enough; for two or three classes you need a 54-56 seat Gran Turismo coach with seat belts on every seat. The trip must also comply with the rules for school trips by coach, with the required documents and checks.

Trade fair weeks: book earlier and what to expect on prices

During the major events, demand for coaches in Milan rises sharply: companies, agencies and hotels are all looking for vehicles on the same days. In the weeks of the big fairs prices can go up, and the most requested vehicles, the Gran Turismo coaches, go first. For EICMA and the autumn fairs it is best to book at least 2-3 months ahead if you need several vehicles.

The most extreme case is the Salone del Mobile in April, when the whole city fills with visitors. For Salone del Mobile 2027 shuttles we recommend booking at least 2-3 months ahead.

The cost of a full day depends on the vehicle, from a minibus to a midi coach or a Gran Turismo coach, and on the hours and kilometres involved, as with any coach hire in Milan.

Stand, staff and guests: how we split the runs

An exhibiting company has three groups to move, on different schedules. Stand staff arrive before opening and leave after closing, often with materials: for them a minibus or a 20-seat van is enough, there and back every day. Invited clients arrive in waves, and for them we run repeated trips between the hotels and the gate nearest the hall. Evening guests, if there is a dinner after the fair, need to be taken from Rho to the restaurant and then to the hotel.

When there are more than 100 participants we prepare a written logistics plan, with pick-up points, times, coordinated vehicles and an operational contact you can reach. The same method applies to evening returns and to our other bus hire services for events in Milan.

How to request a quote for Fiera Milano Rho

Send us the name of the event, the days, the number of people in each group (staff, guests, classes), the hotels or starting points, the hall and the time you want to be inside. Tell us if there are materials to load and whether you need repeated runs. The quote comes in writing, with the driver, fuel, passenger insurance and maintenance included; tolls and any extra hours are shown separately, with the hourly rate set in advance.

For fairs on via Portuense we take groups from our Rome base, using the same method to get to Fiera di Roma by coach.

If instead your event is in the city, at the congress centre, we organise shuttles for Allianz MiCo.

We reply within a few hours during working hours. Phone: +39 06 4882027. Email: info@toddebus.it (subject line: “Milan Event”).

Frequently asked questions

Which motorway exit do you take for Fiera Milano Rho?

The exits are called “fieramilano” and “Pero-fieramilano” and can be reached from the A50 Tangenziale Ovest, A4, A8 and A9. The address is Strada Statale del Sempione 28, Rho.

Which gate is best for entering Fiera Milano?

It depends on the hall. Porta Est (East Gate) serves the M1 metro and the station, Porta Sud (South Gate) is the main entrance and Porta Ovest (West Gate) is near the multi-storey car parks. With the hall number we choose the nearest drop-off point.

How long does it take by coach from central Milan to Rho Fiera?

It is about 20 km from the Duomo. On a trade fair day it takes 40-60 minutes, mainly because of the queues at the exits before opening.

Can a school go to EICMA by coach?

Yes. For 2026 EICMA offers tickets for school groups of 20 to 70 people, with online registration by 20 October 2026. The coach must be booked separately, with seat belts on every seat.

Do coach prices go up during trade fairs?

In the weeks of the big Milan fairs prices can rise and availability falls. Booking 2-3 months ahead gives you more choice of vehicles.
