Chauffeur service in Milan (NCC): cars and minivans for guests, trade fairs and airports

Contents

In Milan, people who book a car with driver are usually not doing it for tourism. They do it because a client lands at Malpensa and has to be at a meeting in Porta Nuova, because a speaker has to be taken to Allianz MiCo, because during Salone del Mobile week a delegation has three appointments in three parts of the city on the same afternoon. An NCC (noleggio con conducente, the Italian licensed chauffeur hire service) in Milan takes these variables out of the schedule.

From our Lainate operations base, open since September 2025, we run the chauffeur service alongside our minibus and coach services. That way the car for the CEO and the coach for their 60 guests have the same contact person, who handles all of our coach and bus hire in Milan.

NCC in Milan: who books it and what for

In Milan the chauffeur service is mainly for people at work. A company may have a foreign guest to collect from the airport, take to three appointments and bring back to the hotel. A congress agency or event office has speakers and VIPs to move at precise times, coordinated with the shuttles for participants.

Then there are private clients: weddings at villas on Lake Como or in Brianza, anniversaries, important dinners where nobody should drive home. In these cases the car often goes alongside the coach for wedding guests.

In every case the principle is the same. An NCC is booked in advance, with time, route and price agreed, unlike a taxi, which you take from a rank or call on the spot. In Italy both services are governed by the same framework law on non-scheduled public transport services, Law no. 21 of 15 January 1992.

NCC from Malpensa and Linate: how the pick-up works

Malpensa is about 50 km from Milan: in the morning it takes an hour or more, up to an hour and a half at the wrong times. If your guest lands at 08:30 and has a meeting in the centre at 10:00, the margin is tight. Better to know that when setting the agenda, not in the car.

At Milan’s airports, NCC passenger pick-ups are regulated by ENAC (the Italian Civil Aviation Authority) ordinances. At Linate, NCC vehicles with up to 9 seats use reserved waiting areas in the Arrivals zone, reached from the open-access lane through a barrier. At Malpensa the NCC parking areas are in the Arrivals zone. That is why, when you book, we agree the meeting point with you and a phone number for the guest.

We monitor flight times: if the flight is delayed, the driver waits without you having to tell us. When it is not one guest arriving but a group, the group transfer from Milan’s airports is done with minibuses and coaches.

Trade fairs, congresses and the Salone del Mobile

Fiera Milano is in Rho, about 20 km from the Duomo, and on a fair day it takes 40-60 minutes to get there. For an exhibitor going back and forth between the stand, the hotel and dinners with clients, a car with driver available for the day means not having to look for transport for every journey. The same times apply to groups travelling to Fiera Milano Rho by coach.

For the Salone del Mobile, in April, it is best to book at least 2-3 months ahead. During the weeks of the big trade fairs, prices can rise. For groups we organise shuttles and transport for the Salone del Mobile with the same notice.

For congresses at Allianz MiCo we usually work on two levels: cars for speakers and institutional guests, and shuttles for congress delegates, coordinated with each other.

Car, minivan or minibus: choosing by the number of people

For one or a few guests we use executive cars, including Mercedes-Benz. With delegations of up to 8 people, a minivan lets everyone travel together with their luggage, without splitting the group across several cars. For international guests we can provide an English-speaking driver on request.

Above 8 passengers the right vehicle is a minibus with driver, with 16 to 27 seats. Where a minivan ends and a minibus begins is one of the questions we are asked most often.

All the vehicles at our Milan base are Euro 6. The company is ISO 14001:2015 certified and on request provides emissions data per kilometre, which is useful for ESG reporting.

Hours, urgent requests and night service

The service runs 7 days a week, public holidays included, at any hour. Flights landing at midnight, departures from Malpensa at 05:00, late-night returns after a company dinner are all part of our normal work. Small changes on the day of the service, such as an extra stop or a 15-20 minute delay, are handled directly with the driver.

For urgent requests the number is always the same, +39 06 4882027, also outside office hours. For written requests, put “Milan” in the email subject line: it will reach the contact person at Lainate.

How to book an NCC in Milan

For the quote we need the date, time, pick-up and drop-off addresses, number of passengers and pieces of luggage, any intermediate stops and, for airports, the flight number. If the car needs to stay available for several hours, tell us the expected start and end times. We reply within a few hours during business hours.

The quote is in writing and includes driver, fuel, passenger insurance and maintenance, while tolls and any extra routes are shown separately. Extra hours are charged at an hourly rate set in advance.

In the capital we offer our chauffeur service in Rome from our base in via Ugo Forti.

Phone: +39 06 4882027. Email: info@toddebus.it (subject line: “Milan”).

Frequently asked questions

How much does an NCC from Malpensa to Milan cost?

The price depends on the type of car, the time and the drop-off address, and it is fixed in the quote before the service. Any waiting hours beyond those planned are charged at an hourly rate agreed in advance.

Do you provide NCC pick-ups from Linate?

Yes, we pick up passengers at both Linate and Malpensa. The meeting point is agreed when you book, because NCC vehicles use dedicated waiting areas in the Arrivals zone.

Can I have a car with driver for a whole day at the Rho trade fair?

Yes, the car stays available for the hours you give us, with journeys between the fair, the hotel and restaurants. During the weeks of the big trade fairs it is best to book early, partly because prices can rise.

What is the difference between an NCC and a taxi in Milan?

A taxi is taken from a rank or called on the spot, with a metered fare. An NCC is booked in advance, with time, route and price set beforehand.

How many passengers can an NCC carry?

Executive cars are for small numbers, minivans take up to 8 people. For larger groups we use minibuses, buses and Gran Turismo coaches, always with a driver.
