Wedding Coach Hire in Milan, Lake Como and Franciacorta

Contents

Couples marrying in Lombardy know that dream venues are rarely in central Milan. They are villas on Lake Como with roads climbing above Bellagio. They are wineries in Franciacorta reached only by a narrow provincial road. They are historic estates in the Oltrepò Pavese where not even a bus passes. They are residences on Lake Maggiore an hour from Malpensa airport and an hour and a half from Milano Centrale station.

From our Lainate base we handle weddings as well as all our coach and bus hire in Milan.

This geography of the Lombard wedding means one practical thing: guest transport is not a minor detail. It is often one of the most complex logistical elements of the whole day.

Todde Bus opened an operating base in Milan in September 2025. We did not arrive unprepared: behind it is the structure of a company that has operated since 1956 and was selected as an official supplier to the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games. Complex logistics, fixed timings, high standards. Exactly what it takes to get your wedding day right too.

Why a wedding outside Milan is a different logistical problem

In Milan, unlike Rome, guests often start from scattered points. Those coming from other regions arrive at Malpensa, Linate or Centrale station. Those who live in the city leave from different districts. Those staying in hotels are in different parts of town.

Bringing these flows together to take 80 or 120 people to a villa on Lake Como takes planning. A coach leaving Centrale station at 10:00 cannot also pick up guests from Malpensa at 09:30 if the timings do not work.

The most efficient solution we suggest in these cases is a central pick-up point, chosen according to where most guests are, and coordinated departures. If there are many international guests, we organise a separate airport transfer that joins the main group at the pick-up point.

For a venue on the lake or in the countryside, a Gran Turismo coach is almost always the right choice: a single, spacious vehicle, comfortable for an hour’s journey. Much better than four separate vans arriving one after another.

The lake roads: what the satnav does not tell you

Anyone who has driven towards Lake Como knows the SS36. They know that on certain Saturdays in June it becomes an open-air car park. They know that the roads up towards Bellagio or Varenna have bends that need a driver who knows them well, not one following the GPS for the first time.

Standard-size coaches cannot use every lakeside route. Some roads call for smaller vehicles. By knowing the venue in advance, we choose the right vehicle for that specific route, not the biggest one available that day.

The same goes for Lake Maggiore and Franciacorta. Every area has its own particular features. Having driven them changes the service.

The late-night return: the part people forget

Weddings finish late. Often after midnight, sometimes around 02:00. Guests who have no car, or who have been drinking, need to get back to the city or their hotel, and a taxi at two in the morning outside Milan is not something you can rely on.

An evening return service is one of the things we always recommend including in the plan. It is usually arranged with one or two vehicles running from the reception venue to pick-up points in the city, with set times but some flexibility on the actual departure.

If the venue is far away, the vehicles wait and leave at agreed times. If it is close, they can make two or three runs. We agree this in advance, so there is no uncertainty on the day.

Transfers from Malpensa and Linate for international guests

If you have guests flying in from abroad the day before the wedding or on the morning itself, the airport transfer is a service worth organising with us.

Malpensa is about 50 km from Milan. With traffic, at the wrong time of day, it can take an hour and a half. One vehicle collecting 15 or 20 international guests at the airport and taking them straight to the main hotel is far more efficient than 15 separate taxis.

We monitor landing times and deal with any flight delays. If the group arrives on several flights at different times, we work out the most practical solution together.

How we build the quote

A wedding quote is not an hourly rate multiplied by the hours of service. It depends on the type of vehicle, the number of transfers, the routes, parking availability at the venue, any motorway tolls and the total hours of service.

We ask you for this information: the wedding date, the town of the ceremony, the town of the reception, an approximate number of passengers and the planned times of the main transfers. From there we build a plan with transparent costs.

Contact us at info@toddebus.it (subject line: “Wedding Milan”). We reply within 24 working hours.

For lakeside venues we run a wedding guest shuttle on Lake Como and in Franciacorta, while guests landing at Malpensa or Linate arrive with a group transfer from Milan’s airports.

FAQ: wedding coach hire in Milan

Do you also cover venues outside Milan, such as Lake Como or Franciacorta?

Yes. Our Milan base covers the whole of Lombardy and the most requested wedding destinations outside the region: Lake Como, Lake Maggiore, Lake Garda, Franciacorta, Oltrepò Pavese. For lakeside venues we know the specific routes and choose the vehicle that suits the roads in that area.

Can you handle guests arriving at Malpensa and guests leaving from Milan at different times?

Yes, it is one of the most common situations. We arrange several pick-ups at different points with a single vehicle (if the timings allow) or with separate vehicles that then join up. It depends on arrival times and the distance between the points. We check this when preparing the quote.

Can we book only the evening return and not the daytime transfers?

Of course. The late-night return service can be booked on its own. Many couples arrange the daytime transfers another way and leave only the end-of-evening return to us. In that case we ask for the approximate time the reception ends and the guests’ main destination.

Can a Gran Turismo coach get through the roads around Lake Como?

It depends on the specific venue. Some lakeside roads can be driven with a standard coach, others cannot. If you already have a venue, send us the address and we will check access. Where the coach cannot get there directly, we set up an intermediate pick-up point served by smaller shuttles.

How many people can a Gran Turismo coach carry?

Up to 56 seated passengers, depending on the model. For larger groups we use two coordinated vehicles. If you have more than 56 guests to carry, two vehicles leaving together are often more convenient than one vehicle making two trips.
