A team travelling to an away game is not just any group. There are athletes who need to arrive rested, kit bags as big as suitcases, nets, balls and medical bags, and a warm-up time that does not move. Smaller vehicles have less space, and with a lot of equipment it sometimes makes sense to go up a size. Better to know beforehand than to find out at the ground at 07:00.<\/p>\n\n\n\n At spring and summer tournaments the travellers are young people aged 10 to 17. Our drivers hold a category D licence, an up-to-date CQC (the professional driver qualification card) and specific training for carrying minors. On the vehicles we use for schools every seat has a seat belt: if you need the same standard for your team, say so in your request.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The driver drives; the driver is not a chaperone. Supervising the young players remains the job of the club’s adults travelling with the group, and there should be enough of them for the number of children. For a tournament lasting several days it is worth preparing a passenger list with the parents’ contact details and giving a copy to the driver as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n For away trips with many families following, departing from different points in Rome and the surrounding province, the logic is the same as for other events in Rome with hired buses<\/a>: a few pick-up points, clear times and a contact person who answers the phone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n From Rome the main Italian cities can be reached in 2-8 hours. A match a few hundred kilometres away is feasible as a day trip, but it has to be planned around the warm-up time, not the kick-off. If the warm-up is at 14:30, you need to arrive with a margin for traffic and for unloading the equipment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n On longer journeys what counts is how many hours a coach driver can drive<\/a> and how much rest is required: we plan driving shifts within the legal limits, sometimes with a longer stop. For multi-day tournaments in another region, the driver’s overnight accommodation is shown separately in the quote.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Away trips outside the region come under our coach, bus and minibus trips across Italy<\/a>, with the same kind of written quote.<\/p>\n\n\n\n We also carry groups of fans, for example a supporters’ club following its team away from home. In this case, before booking, check the decisions of the Osservatorio nazionale sulle manifestazioni sportive, the Interior Ministry’s national body that monitors sporting events. For matches considered high risk, restrictions can be imposed, such as a ban on selling tickets to residents of certain provinces.
