In Milan, many companies are not in the city. They are in Assago, Segrate, Sesto San Giovanni, Lainate or the office parks along the ring roads, while the end-of-year company dinner in Milan almost always takes place at a venue in the city or a villa in Brianza. The organiser therefore has to sort out two journeys that have little in common: from the office to the venue, and from the venue to everyone’s home, late at night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We handle this from Lainate, where we have our Milan operations base with our own vehicles, all Euro 6, the same ones used for our coach and bus rental in Milan<\/a>. Below we look at how we set up the service for HR teams and office managers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n An office in Assago with 150 employees and a dinner near Porta Nuova means 150 cars driving into the city at rush hour, and then 150 cars to park. With a coach the group leaves the office at 18:30, arrives together and the cars stay in the company car park. Those who live near the office collect their car the next morning, those who live in the city go straight home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n When the company has several sites, for example offices in Segrate and a warehouse towards Rho, we send a vehicle from each one with times calculated so that they arrive together. For the outward journey from the office the numbers are simple: a Gran Turismo coach<\/a> carries 54-56 people, a bus up to 36. For a small department a minibus with driver<\/a> or a van is enough.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The return is the part that needs most attention. When the metro closes, Milan’s night surface lines come into service; according to ATM, the N lines replace the metro on Friday and Saturday nights and before midweek public holidays. For those who live outside Milan, however, the options shrink a great deal after a certain hour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n That is why we suggest return trips that take people to where they left their car or where they catch the last train: the company site, the main stations, metro terminals such as Rho Fieramilano, Comasina, Gessate or Abbiategrasso. With 100 people the typical solution is two vehicles on two routes, for example one heading north-west and one heading east, with a first run for those who want to leave early and a second at the end of the evening. Ask each colleague for their stop in advance: we need it to size the vehicles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The most popular venues for company dinners are often in the centre, on the Navigli or around Porta Nuova, where tour coaches must follow the rules on coach parking, Area B and Area C<\/a> (Milan’s low emission zone and congestion charge zone). We check them before every service. When the Gran Turismo cannot stop outside the venue, we choose a pick-up and drop-off point a few minutes’ walk away, or use minibuses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Villas and cascine (old farmhouses) outside the city have the opposite problem: there is space, but sometimes the access road is narrow. We check accessibility from the address before confirming the vehicle, and if the coach cannot get there we use a minibus or a transfer point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Many end-of-year evenings in Milan are also an occasion with clients and colleagues from other sites. Those arriving by train are collected at the station; those arriving by plane need picking up at Linate or Malpensa, which is about 50 km away: on a normal morning the journey takes an hour or more. On group transfers from the airports<\/a> we monitor flight times and, if a flight is delayed, the vehicle waits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n With a convention in the afternoon and dinner in the evening, the coach works for the whole day: hotel, conference room, venue, return. For bus hire for events<\/a> with more than 100 people we prepare a written logistics plan with an operations contact who can be reached on the day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n End-of-year dinners are concentrated on a few evenings in December, and the vehicles for those dates are booked first. For services with several vehicles we recommend booking 2-3 months ahead; if you are reading this in November, call us straight away and keep a Thursday open as an option.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In Milan we often work by the full or half day, with indicative coach hire prices<\/a> for each type of vehicle. Extra hours, if the evening runs late, have an hourly rate set out in the quote. On request we provide emission data per km, useful if the company reports the event in its ESG report.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Send us the date, the addresses of the departure sites, the address of the venue, the number of participants, the start time and expected end of the evening, and the return stops you need. If guests are arriving from elsewhere, add their flights or trains.
