The Milano Marathon 2027 will be run on Sunday 4 April, starting in Corso Sempione. Anyone arriving with a group has three different journeys to sort out: bib collection in the days before, the Sunday start with the city closed, and meeting up again after the finish. If the group includes relay teams, the journeys become four or five.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Since September 2025 we have had an operations base in Lainate, with our own vehicles, all Euro 6. The marathon services start from there, as does the rest of our coach and bus rental in Milan<\/a>, in the city and the surrounding area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The organisers’ website (RCS Sports & Events) confirms the date of 4 April 2027 and the 25th edition. The start is in Corso Sempione. For the finish, the website currently gives two indications: the course page mentions Piazza del Duomo, the relay page Via Palestro. The final map should be checked before fixing the group’s meeting point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Bibs are collected at the Milano Running Festival on Thursday 1, Friday 2 and Saturday 3 April. The 2027 venue has not been announced yet; in the 2023 edition, for example, the festival headquarters was at MiCo<\/a>. Entries close on 31 March 2027 at 23:59, unless the organisers close them earlier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The start time and the traffic orders are still missing. The Comune di Milano (the city council) publishes them shortly before the race, and they are what determines where a coach will be able to stop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Corso Sempione and the area around the Arco della Pace are the most closed-off part of the city on race morning. The coach drops the group outside the closure perimeter and the runners walk in. Which street, we decide when the traffic plan is published.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The advantage of our Lainate base is that the vehicles enter the city from the north-west without going through the centre. For groups staying in the Fiera<\/a>, Portello or City Life areas, pick-up is simpler; for those staying near the Stazione Centrale or in Porta Romana, more margin is needed. Send us the hotel addresses and we will suggest departure times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n With 20-25 runners and few bags, a minibus with driver in Milan<\/a> has more choice of drop-off points than a Gran Turismo coach<\/a>. For 50 people with kit bags and supporters, the 54-56 seat coach remains more practical.<\/p>\n\n\n\n On normal days tour coaches in the city follow their own rules on coach parking, Area B and Area C<\/a> (Milan’s low emission zone and congestion charge zone), which differ from the rules for cars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The relay is the format that brings many company groups and teams linked to the charity programme to Milan. The course is split into four legs, with changeovers listed on the website in the Pagano area (after 13.2 km), San Siro<\/a> (after a further 8.6 km) and Uruguay (after a further 6.9 km), and a final leg of 12.1 km to the finish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The logistical problem is obvious: at start time, ten teams means forty people who need to be at four different points in the city. The second, third and fourth runners start from areas far from the start line and have to get there while the roads are closed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n A coach cannot chase the race. What we can do is assess with you, once the traffic order is out, whether a loop that drops the relay runners near their changeovers before the closures makes sense, or whether the metro is faster for some stretches. In the afternoon, on the other hand, the coach is useful for bringing everyone together and taking them to lunch or the company event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Many runners arrive from abroad between Thursday and Friday. Malpensa is about 50 km from the city, and in the morning the journey takes an hour or more. With arrivals on different flights, on a group transfer from Malpensa<\/a> we decide together whether to wait for everyone or run several trips.<\/p>\n\n\n\n A sensible plan for a group landing on Friday: airport, hotel, then the Running Festival for the bibs, with the vehicle waiting. On Saturday supporters often want to see the city, with a coach tour of Milan<\/a> designed for groups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n For agencies selling marathon packages we offer coaches with driver for tour operators<\/a> and DMCs, with terms dedicated to the trade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The finish is in the historic centre, where a coach cannot wait for long. The meeting point should be chosen outside the closed zone, and it must be easy to describe to tired people whose phones may be flat. A square with a precise name works better than a crossroads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The time limit for completing the marathon is 6 hours and 30 minutes. Hours can pass between the first and last runner in the group: with two return trips, one in the middle of the day and one at the end of the race, nobody waits too long. The vehicle’s waiting hours are shown in the quote at a rate set in advance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n For a service with several vehicles and coordinated times it is best to write to us 2-3 months ahead, so by January. The quote includes driver, fuel, passenger insurance and maintenance; tolls, if any, are listed separately.
